While silver and silver plate are superior for keeping contents cold, don’t just fill the ice bucket with ice cubes to chill your favourite wines or Champagne. Fill the silver ice bucket with ice, then halfway up with water, before dropping in the bottle. Add more water if there’s room. Adding water creates an icy bath that’s in contact with the entire surface of the bottle.
