A very good looking and decorative piece, the upholstery is all thick cattle hide leather, the frame hand carved English oak, the stud work has been done for decoration and function. The inside back leg is stamped with the order number, this was common with a number of hight end companies, Gillows of Lancaster & London, Howard & Son’s, Jas Shoolbred and so on, there are no clues externally to who may have made it, sometimes there are further stamps and signatures inside the frame but I don’t want to start removing the base cover
This piece has been fully restored to include having the old colour stripped out, its then been hand dyed this wonderful cigar brown colour, the legs have been French polished

Condition
Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description pertaining to the condition.
Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of creasing and wear, we recommend annual waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
