Chinese Rose Bowl With Gold Accents

“Rose Medallion” Chinese porcelain bowl. This decorative piece is surrounded (on interior and exterior sides) with four classical courtyard scenes, abundant flora, birds and butterflies. The central medallion is a pink flower with green leaves and a blue bird. The rim of the white painted bowl is gold, which also outlines the border of multicolored flowers and other still-life details/motifs.

The painted porcelain is finished with a glaze which, along with the gilt accents, reflects the light beautifully. The bowl is large – 12”in diameter and 5.75” high – and would make a statement at the center of any table. The bowl comes with a traditional stand/rest (see photo).

The bowl was originally purchased in New York City in the 1990s. Chinese stamp appears at the bottom.
