Magnificent and rare Art Deco Amsterdamse School open bookcase. Design by Willem Retera Wzn and executed by Wed. Ingenhoes Amsterdam. Striking Dutch design from 1918. Solid oak base with solid padouk elements. Four original wooden shelves, adjustable in height. This wonderful Art Deco Amsterdamse School open bookcase by Willem Retera Wzn was custom made for Paviljoen Vondelpark, a stunning building in the famous city park het Vondelpark in Amsterdam after the renovation of the building in 1918. In very good original condition with minor wear consistent with age and use, preserving a beautiful patina. We will ship this lovely piece of furniture in a custom made wooden crate for safe transport when purchased by overseas buyers! Our gallery is a family-owned and managed company which has been dedicated to dealing in 20th century Decorative Arts since it’s foundation in the late 1920s.
