Boxwood stringing and edging on the base of the seat.
Comfortable curved back splat and it sits on 4 turned feet with ball castors.
The leather style vinyl is secured all around with cabochon studs.
A Captain’s Chair is a swivel and tilt chair with a curved back and central spindles.
The origin of Captain’s Chairs is not fully known…but it is believe that they were originally designed and made for use by Sea Captains in their rooms for use with their desk. They were easily moved around without the needs to get out of the chair and therefore practically immune to the rise and fall of the ship on the Ocean.
They became popular office chairs in the Early 20th Century. Mainly due to their comfort and ease of movement.
Whilst relatively contemporary these are quality chairs.
Perfect for your home or business office.
