19th century commode, walnut with contrasting shell, scroll and floral form inlaid veneer, top with long narrow drawer over two tambour doors that slide open to reveal a large storage compartment, lower portion with flip-top and large drawer that pulls out to reveal chamber pot, circular wooden cover that lifts off revealing a white porcelain chamber pot with an indistinct impressed maker’s mark on the underside, supported on four fluted spade legs each ending in bakelite castors.
Condition: Expected signs of use and wear including a jammed left tambour drawer, some scattered expected checking with the presentation being stately and quite decorative.
