Appeared in a 9-car train set that reproduces the buffet-connected 787 series “Tsubame”
Since its appearance as the limited express “Tsubame” in July 1992, the actual train has undergone various operations and interior and exterior renewals, and is still active as the main train of the JR Kyushu conventional line limited express. At the time of debut, it was located at the Kagoshima driver’s office and was running from Mojiko Hakata to Nishi Kagoshima (currently Kagoshima Chuo). In 1994, a 9-car train was formed, and the composition of the buffet car Sahashi 787 was changed from car 3 to car 5 to meet the increasing demand for passengers.
