An antique Persian Tabriz rug from the early 20th century. This light toned medallion Tabriz city carpet is in a Persian size format rather than the wider 8’ by 10’ Western size. Spiral arabesques and palmettes supplement the medallion. An ivory border of triple posies and palmettes frames the whole. Silk highlights were incorporated into the weaving to give the rug a definitive contrast in an otherwise mellow and grounded rug.
