Pretty and functional, this salad fork and spoon set feature ceramic handles in the blue and white Blue Willow pattern. You can see the traditional love birds in the design. These are likely Mid-century. The bowls and tines are wooden, not sure what type. They don’t look as they’ve ever been used. I am not certain of the origin, but a lot of this early pattern was made in Japan. The handles look almost “flo blue” and appear to be older.

The spoon bowl is 2″ x 3 1/4″; the fork is 1″ x 3 1/2″, and the ceramic handles are 4 1/4″ x 1 1/8″.

Being offered is a sterling silver salad fork and spoon with wood handles made in Mexico. At the height of the Mid-Century modern movement (1950’s), Mexican silversmiths experimented with other materials (i.e., wood, glass, leather) and created some of the most beautiful pieces. This salad set fuses silver and wood in a coherent almost natural design. The handles are curved and tapered— see photos, at the point where the wood handle and sterling top meet there are 3 beads to give them a Jensenesque feel. Uber-modern and stylish you will appreciate these servers for years to come!
