This very detailed and unique silver plated hat stand is hallmarked by an unknown maker, but presumed to have been made in England in approximately 1910 in the period style. This hat is done in a silver plated metal and is an extremely realistically executed miniature of an military officer’s dress uniform hat. This detailed miniature hat shows everything from the texture on the band, the vent holes on either side to the details on the brim and the buckle on the strap. The hat itself is stabilized by the strap which is flat across the bottom. The strap shows a model or registration number on one side, and is clearly marked as ‘EPNS’ with a shield hallmark of an unidentified maker. We presume this may have been presented or issued to a high ranking officer for valor or upon retirement, but its provenance is unknown.
