Napoleon III burr mahogany wardrobe with two doors and one drawer. The Second Empire style, also known as the Napoleon III style, is an architectural, furnishing and clothing style that emerged in France during the Second Empire, under the impetus of Emperor Napoleon III and Empress Eugenie. It was very popular with the French bourgeoisie between the 1860s and the 1880s. A composite style which, especially in the early years, consisted of a mixture of the various previous styles.
